This is the life!

K, I have to say I am loving the fact that someone else prepares and cleans up our meals! And I have professed my undying love for the maid and the laundress! I love them and I have never met them. I love the Hotel but, we do miss our friends and family. I will include some pictures with this post. (one of a chandelier we thought Aunt Tammy would love) Every morning we have an amazing breakfast buffet, it is my favorite meal so far. The whole family is satisfied and EmmaLi eats herself into a comatose state. I cannot bring myself to limit her food intake and today fed her nearly every hour. I know when she loves something because she giggles and screams Ma ma. Today we were free until this afternoon when Fred took us to a special bridge that the Chinese in Nanjing are very proud of. It is very significant because the Russian govt. were suppose to build it for China and in the middle of it's construction, relations became bad so, they pulled all their resources and took their blue prints with them as well. The leader of China pushed the project through showing the people of China they could be independent of any other countries for help. There were many workers who donated their time and efforts so, it is the only freeway that is toll free showing appreciation to those people helping build the bridge. It shows the ability for the Chinese people to be on their own. It is amazing to see the huge bridge where trains and cars alike use. I think it was at least 3 miles long. Along with the bridge is a story of a master crystal painter. We actually got to meet him (in the picture he looks thrilled to meet us) But, his story is amazing it takes 15 years to train to paint crystals and it is beautiful work done meticulously with a very small brush. Whoever trains to do this can only do it til they are 40 or so because you must have steady hands. Anyhow, it is very prestigious and not many in the world get to train. Not many want to take the time to learn either so, the Master takes people from the poverty areas and trains crystal painters. Jon and I thought it sounded similar to the perpetual education fund. Anyway the master crystal painter chose to have his school on this special bridge and chooses to maintain the bridge by selling his crystals. Hope I am not boring everyone by the lengthy information but, I am trying to remember all this info for EmmaLi. We were able to purchase some crystals for Jessica and EmmaLi.

Next we went to a bizarre (pretty close to a flea market) it was crowded! It was at the entry to the Confucius Temple. The temple included the life story of Confucius all carved out from Jade (Nanjing is known for their jade work). Fred wanted to take us there at night because it has many fixtures that light up at night. It was really cool to see however our little EmmaLi starting melting down so it was difficult to appreciate too much. Nanjing is cool to see and has many things they can boast of but, as far as I'm concerned the best thing they've produced is our sweet little EmmaLi. I am the most blessed woman in the world!
