Today our guide Fred was giving us the day off of sightseeing so that we could rest, and so he could meet an old college roomate who was coming to town. But this morning before he left, he brought his daughter to our hotel so that we could meet her. She is a little younger than Jessica and her name is Tiana (probably didn't spell it right, but it's pronounced "tee", "awna"). She speaks English very well and with a little prompting from her father, she recited the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs for us in very good English. He also had her tell us another story, which I think ended up being just more of Snow White, just a different part of the story.
Later that day we decided to take a walk and try and find something for lunch. Well, I (Jon) thought I remembered a restaurant down one road, but after walking for quite some time and finding nothing, we turned around and walked back. We ended up eating at "Tacos" which is right close to our hotel. We ate their yesterday too. They have good chocolate cake!!! But today when Jessica bit into a piece of Mom's cheese pizza, she ended up biting down on a small nail (yes, one that you hit with a hammer!!!) I showed it to our waitress and she took the pizza away and said they would make us another one. Once the new one arrived, we all tenatively bit into a piece, and luckily found no more nails!!! Boy what I would give for a good Texas Roadhouse rack of ribs and some warm rolls!!!!! Topped off by some Ben & Jerry's ice cream!!!!!!
This afternoon when everybody was going a little "hotel room crazy", we decided to take a taxi ride down to Wal-Mart again. Well, that was a big mistake, because its a 3 day holiday here, and it was even more crowded than before. I've never seen so many people (all of them seemed to be staring at us)!!!!!! We saw a Hagen Daz sign and decided to duck for cover and see if chocolate could make things a little less crazy. After that we didn't make it long in the walmart before EmmaLi decided to draw more attention our direction by yelling at the top of her lungs (which are developing quite nicely!!!) We eventually got lucky and a taxi stopped right in front of us to drop off some people. We opened the door for the departing taxi passengers and hopped right in before someone else could. It was a welcome sight when the taxi pulled up at our hotel and we were "home at last"!!!
